But the alluring doctor has taken residence in Mark’s brain and is messing with his life’s plan—in particular Mark’s determination to skirt attachments and all the self-absorbed drama that goes with them.

Mark has spent two years watching his friends drop like flies to the white picket virus, only to suddenly find himself hankering for a hammer and some white paint. Edward, however, doesn’t want a bar of Mark’s roguish charm.

Excerpt:

Somewhere along the way, the tension fell off and we were just two people talking. After almost two hours, Collin stood, laced his fingers together, and stretched his arms over his head. His shirt rolled higher, enough to see the hair that trailed below his belt. Catnip.
A startled laugh made me look up. Collin had the smallest frown on his face, like he couldn’t quite believe I was ogling him, again. To be honest, I couldn’t either. I needed my interest to be reciprocated without reservations, and I didn’t have that here. And that made it creepy.
“I’m sorry,” I said.
Collin hugged his arms to his stomach and sat back down. “About what?”
“That.” I gestured between us, until his brow rose. “Making you uncomfortable.”
“I—” He cut himself off and frowned, his brows pulling together sharply. “I’m sorry, too.”
I jerked a little hearing that. “What the hell do you have to be sorry for?”
He inhaled and I watched his chest expand, then he exhaled so hard I thought he’d topple over. “I’ve been rude and dismissive and needy and all over the place since I met you. I didn’t mean to, but…” He shrugged, and I remembered the way his breath caught when I got close.

About the Author

Jayce Ellis has three loves: her husband and her two turtles. Hubby loves her back. The turtles she's not so sure about, but they do love their sports (Bay Area teams FTW!). She still hasn't figured out why she lives in Northern Virginia, where there's weather, instead of California, where she's from, and where it's just...pretty. Jayce spends her days divorcing happily-married couples (or so she's been told), and her nights talking maniacally to herself. Thankfully the recorder catches her rumblings and magically turns them into words on a screen. Painting nails is way easier when you don't actually have to type, and with well over 500 polishes to get through, there's a lot of painting going on.

Notwithstanding her no-good, very bad, horrible day job, Jayce seriously believes that true love conquers all. Even Maleficent said it. Sure, she was having an epic Mean Girls moment at the time, but she still said it. And she's right. The only thing Jayce loves more than writing about true love conquering all, is hearing from readers who feel the same way.

Five Men. Five changes for redemption. One things for sure, these guys are no angels.

Blurb

Two jobs down, three to go, and job #3 is mine. My name is Ridge Pfeiffer. I’m a dirt poor jewel thief from the wrong side of the tracks, and I don't play well with others.

Theoretically, the deal works like this. I do the job Charlie planned for me and Miranda erases my past, makes my biggest problems go away. Too bad my biggest problem is the one thing I don’t want to go away: Diplomatic Security Agent Davis Ethan.

When Davis caught me breaking into a safe during job #2, I should have ended up in jail. instead, I ended up in his bed. Rich, gorgeous, and privileged, the only thing we have in common is a love of beautiful lingerie and beautiful men. He’s everything I hate, everything I want, and he could destroy me with a word.

There are a hundred red flags surrounding this job, I should walk away and take my chances, but I’m going to do it anyway. Anything to buy me one more night with Davis.

One more job, one more night, and then I’ll leave for good.

My Two Pennies' Worth

This series is all those cheesy 70s and 80s cop/spy shows, mashed together and made gay as gay can be.
This one is the third book and it's an enemies to lovers tale with a side order of sexy undies.
While each tale deals with a different mission (and couple) these books can't really be read as standalones. Too much is carried over from the previous books to make complete sense dipping into the series from here.
I'm looking forward to Leo's story, which I assume will be book 5. I've a theory and I'd like to see if I'm right.

Excerpt

“You know we don't have to meet in places like this. I'm willing to spring for some better accommodations.” I said, stripping the nylon bedspread off and tossing it to the floor. I grimaced at the feel of it between my fingers.

“I like this,” Ridge said. “It's perfect.”

“Perfect for what?”

“Perfect for cheap, meaningless sex. And that's all this is.”

I wanted to argue with him, but I also wanted to get laid, and I knew pointing out that we both knew this was more would only chase him away. “Can’t we have expensive meaningless sex? I’ve done it in five-star resorts. All I’m asking for is a place with nice sheets and room service. And a mattress that may have been cleaned sometime in the last twenty years.”

Ridge pushed me against the wall. “We could, Rich Boy, but this is my world and if you want me, you get my world with it.”

“Maybe we could chip in and meet in the middle.”

“Maybe I like seeing the pretty rich boy begging for someone like me in this run down pay-by-the-hour motel.”

“Do you like it here?”

“No, I don't like it. But this is where we are.”

We didn’t normally do this during the day. Dust motes danced in the light rimming the curtains. The room was dark and smelled of things I’d rather not think about.

Except for him. He smelled amazing. Whatever soap or shampoo or cologne he wore carried the scent of oranges and tk.

“Wait, how did you...why did you call me a rich boy?” How did he know?

“Really? I could smell it on you. Literally smell it on you. Your fucking Ambre Topkapi cologne, which sounds like a Pokemon for chrissake. You have perfect teeth, perfect haircut. Manicure, pedicure. You’ve never missed a meal in your life. You don’t live anywhere in the real world. Do you even know any normal people?”

“Everybody I work with.”

“And are you friends with them?”

I wasn’t. Not really. I tried but there was this barrier between us. Really, what could I say about kids and wives and bills?

He slid his hand down the back of my trousers and grabbed my ass. His grip turned into a caress as his fingers brushed across the silky lace and he lost his train of thought. “Are these the same ones?”

“Yes.” I said leaning my shoulders back against the wall and grinning at it. “The purple and black lace La Perla.” He loved those. They might not be the most expensive pair I owned, but they were certainly the most effective at getting him to fuck me through the mattress the way I loved. I had another surprised for him as well, but I’d let him discover that on his own time.

“Anyway. Stop distracting me.” His long fingers wrapped around my wrists, pinning them to the wall. His thumb caressed my pulse point, his thigh pressed between my legs and I couldn’t stop myself from grinding down against it.

“I’m distracting you?”

“Mmm hmmm,” he said mouthing along my neck. I tilted my chin up to give him better access. “You never talk about normal thing. You never complain about car repairs, the cost of anything.” His thumb pressed into the palm of my hand. “This watch?” he pulled away from me far enough to dangle my own watch in front of my eye. I hadn’t even felt him taking it off me.

“Clever boy,” I said, kissing him in reward.

His fox-like grin short-circuited my brain. In my defense, anyone would find thinking impossible with an angel rubbing up against them. I was surprised I could still breathe. “Gotta keep you on your toes.”

“Asshole,” I said, grinning back at him. I snatched it out of his hand, Knowing I was able to only because he let me was incredible arousing. I’d talk to my therapist about that another day.

“You’re the asshole, wearing a thirty-thousand dollar watch in a neighborhood like this.”

“Yeah, but—”

“But who would know? Everyone. We know how much everything costs in a way you never will.”

“We?”

“Poor people, Davey. We know the price of everything down to the penny because we have to.”

“Oh really?”

Really.

I jerked my chin at the shopping bag I had dropped at the doorway. “Then how about a quiz?” My brain came back on line as he backed away from me.

“What kind of a test?”

“I got you a present.”

“Why?”

“Because I wanted to.”

Laughing at his suspicious look, I handed him the bag.

He took it gingerly, holding it between two fingers much in the same way I had held the bedspread. “What is it?”

“It’s a present.”

“What is it?”

“Open it and see. That’s usually how presents work.”

Will absolutely not fall for him in the process . . .

Teaser

Sullivan’s voice came out thin, stretched, exhausted. “Joanna . . .”
“Callaghan said Reid was as good as they come. You trust Callaghan’s judgement.”
Sullivan grunted.
“One-month trial,” Joanna said. “If you’re not convinced Reid is the perfect man, we’ll let him go.”
“Fine, okay,” Sullivan gave in. “Maybe he’ll fall overboard before that.”
“Dad,” Joanna warned.
“I won’t push him over.” Sullivan blinked toward Reid, who crawled off the couch and pulled himself up using the table leg. “God, I won’t need to.”
Reid managed not to wave a merry middle finger at his new boss. “I’m very partial to this vest. May I keep it?”

Excerpt

Reid dragged his gaze over every damn inch of Sullivan. The hard jaw, that corded neck, those arms that flexed as he folded his arms over his whistle, the hint of defined abs denting his shirt, those solid thighs. He prodded a finger against Sullivan’s stomach—yep, definitely washboard. “Nope. You’re meat lovers, through and through.”
A curious flush speckled the base of Sullivan’s neck. “This will be a meat-lover free year.” Sullivan’s blue gaze tickled over Reid’s face in earnest. “No matter the temptation.”
Reid held his gaze. “I’ll try but what if I’m weak?”

Review Tour - Blue Boy Box Set by Garrett Leigh

Cover Design: Black Jazz Design

Roses are red, Valentines are…BLUE!

Three steamy bestselling novellas set within the Blue Boy world. All three novellas are set in and around the Los Angeles based Blue Boy Studio, an adult film company with a difference.

BOOK 1 – Bullet: Levi is a power top with an alcoholic mother, and a chip on his shoulder. Sonny’s a dancer with attitude and the biggest heart. Their scene together is just another day at work until Levi realises he’s falling hard for the twink he used to hate. Enemies to lovers is inevitable.

BOOK 2 – Bones: Skater boy Cam is a veteran actor at Blue Boy adult studio. Nursing an unrequited crush on his boss, he’s never needed anything else until kind-hearted Sasha rides into his life on his BMX. They share more than mutual attraction, and when Cam find himself in need of some healing comfort, friendship turns to love.

BOOK 3 – Bold: Go-go dancer Kai has never been the object of anyone’s desire, at least not for real, away from the adult studio where he films scene after scene from the bottom. Then quiet Matthew enters his life. A scene with a difference comes to call, if Kai can figure out how to truly own Matthew, inside and out.

All three novellas guarantee a happily-ever-after.

My Two Pennies Worth

This is a great collection of novellas set in a gay porn studio. The writing is tight with a sense of reality and doesn't have the rose coloured tint that some porn star romances have. Garrett Leigh doesn't shy away from her MCs having on page sex with other porn stars in regard to their job.
I missed the very British feel of Garrett's later work but overall really enjoyed this collection.

Can the love they once shared be saved or has the pain of the past eclipsed it?

It’s been twenty years since Kye McLeod left the quaint little mountain town of Spruce Lake, Maine to play professional hockey. He’s had his share of ups and downs, but his choice to hit the big city and not look back has paid off handsomely. The future hall-of-famer is now ready to retire and come out of that dark closet he’s been sequestered in since his first secretive kiss with Davy Aguirre in high school. Now that he’s heading home to keep an eye on his feisty grandfather, there might be the chance to rekindle the flame between him and Davy.

Kye quickly learns that the boy he left behind isn’t the man he’s now knocking heads with. He always imagined grown-up Davy—who now insists on being called David—would be beyond the pain that Kye’s youthful blunder caused him, but now he’s not so sure. When the wildlife conservation officer squares off with the ex-hockey captain their connection is incendiary, and there are more than just fireworks. However, winning back the man he walked away from may not be as easy as he thought…

Jones is determined to find out what caused the unexpected death of her father whilst they were exploring ancient ruins in the Himalayas. She’s never been interested in the idea of the marriage bed, but along with a stack of books and coded journals he’s left her with the promise she’ll travel back to England for the first time since childhood and try being the lady she’s never been.

Edie and her brother are leaving soon on a journey to the Himalayas to document and collect plants for the new Kew Gardens when she befriends Miss Jones in London. She’s never left England before and is delighted to learn that the lady will be returning to the mountains she calls home at the same time they are planning their travels. When they meet again in Srinagar, Edie is surprised to find that here the Miss Jones of the London salons is ‘just Jones’ the explorer, clad in breeches and boots and unconcerned with the proprieties Edie has been brought up to respect.

A non-binary explorer and a determined lady botanist make the long journey over the high mountain passes to Little Tibet, collecting flowers and exploring ruins on the way. Will Jones discover the root of the mysterious deaths of her parents? Will she confide in Edie and allow her to help in the quest? It’s a trip fraught with perils for both of them, not least those of the heart.

Excerpt

Edie was still washing when she heard the commotion. The sheep and goats were making a dreadful racket, baaing and wailing much louder than she had ever heard them, even when they were on the move. Then the herd dogs joined in, giving tongue like Edie had never heard before. She didn't have her stays on. Or her chemise. Or anything. She hastily pulled her dress over her head, grabbed up the pistol she kept by her camp bed and dashed out toward the noise in her bare feet, hair flying.

She ran without a thought. She didn't know where anyone else was, but she assumed Henry and Bennett and the young men had already started the day of surveying they had planned last night. She and Jones had discussed riding out to look at the ruined caravanseri they had glimpsed from the hilltop yesterday as they were riding down into the valley, but Jones was usually up and about well before Edie emerged from her tent each morning, as were her men.

When she reached the little flock of sheep and goats, she stopped in horror. She wasn't at first able to make out what she was seeing, but then it came into focus sharply, with scents and sounds and colors. There was a tiger in among the goats. It was eating one of them. Margery, the leader of the herd. The three herd dogs were going berserk, barking and making short forays toward the tiger, before backing off again. The goats couldn't get away because they were tied. The tiger was sat in the middle of them, with its kill. It was peaceably eating Margery for breakfast.

Edie screamed. The dogs barked. Distantly she heard voices shouting, but they were a long way away.

The tiger looked at her. Or perhaps through her. It had big, black, bottomless eyes and looked annoyed that she had disturbed its breakfast. It stood up, ponderously, and growled. If anything, its eyes became darker and more menacing. "I really don't want your breakfast," Edie said. "I liked Margery, I'm not going to eat her." The dogs were still barking like mad.

The tiger growled again, sniffing the air. It took a step forward.

Edie raised the pistol. She was pretty handy with it now. Henry had made her practice and practice at home before they had set out on their journey. She could shoot a musket as well, although she wasn't very good at loading. Her pistol was loaded. Henry had said that it was dangerous to keep a firearm loaded but that at night, fumbling in the dark to load one if the camp was attacked would take too long and might get her killed. Generally speaking, Henry had been very brutal in his explanations before he had agreed to bring her along. Edie spared a brief second to be grateful to her brother, although not too grateful, because a proper brother would be here at this point defending her from the tiger.

The tiger took a step forward. Edie said "I really don't want to shoot you. Please take Margery and go away."

The tiger growled some more.

Edie swallowed. She was going to have to shoot it. She had no idea how easy it was to kill a tiger, but she had a vague idea that shooting it and missing or shooting it and only wounding it would be a bad outcome.

It had Margery's blood all around its mouth and down its front. It looked like it was a male tiger. It had a beard and lots of muscle. It was very large and its eyes were completely black. It probably came up somewhere between her waist and her shoulder. She really hoped it wasn't going to kill her and eat her. She didn't have her stays on. She didn't want to die without her stays on. Her mother would be mortified.

About A. L. Lester

A. L. Lester likes to read. Her favourite books are post-apocalyptic dystopian romances full of suspense, but a cornflake packet will do there’s nothing else available. The gender of the characters she likes to read (and write) is pretty irrelevant so long as they are strong, interesting people on a journey of some kind. She lives in the southwest UK with Mr AL, two children, a permaculture vegetable garden and a dachshund. She sees herself as: parent, queer, gardener, author, spouse, daughter, beermaker, disabled, ex-goose-keeper, carer, procrastinator. Short tempered non-binary control freak.

Excerpt

From Chapter 1

“I’m kind of surprised that the witch-disciple’s gotten away with things as long as he has, if Simon’s right about his cousin being some kind of badass supernatural vigilante,” Seth mused after they had driven several miles. “I would have thought she and her friends would have cleaned house.”

“Like you said, Charleston’s a haunted hotspot,” Evan replied. “That might take a while to clear out all the bad actors.”

“I hope we’re right about being ahead of the curve this time,” Seth said. “We know the witch-disciple is calling himself Michael Longstreet. We know he’s going after Blake Miller. And if Simon’s right about Cassidy and her friends, maybe we can take Longstreet down without nearly getting killed ourselves.”

“Working with Travis and Brent in Pittsburgh certainly helped,” Evan replied. “And I’m not sure what we would have done without Milo and Toby in Boone. Which makes it all the more amazing that you took out the first one all by yourself.”

“Both of us almost died.”

“But we didn’t.” Although Evan had to admit, silently, that it had been a near thing.

“We still don’t know where Longstreet’s anchor is, or what he uses for an amulet,” Seth pointed out.

“We’ll find them,” Evan replied confidently.

Evan’s phone rang, and a glance told him it was Simon Kincaide. “Hey, Simon. What’s up?”

“Where are you? Is Seth with you?” Simon’s voice had an urgent edge to it. That sobered Evan immediately.

“We’re in the truck, driving to Charleston. Is there a problem?”

“I had a vision. A warning.” Simon’s abilities as a psychic medium were the real deal. “You and Seth are both in danger.”

“Not to be a smartass, but we kinda knew that,” Seth replied. “Seeing as how we’re going after another witch.”

“I think it’s more immediate. I saw broken glass and blood…a flash of something pink…and something about a UFO.”

Evan and Seth exchanged a look. “A…UFO?” Evan echoed.

“Alien hitmen?” Seth sounded incredulous.

“I know how it sounds. I wish visions were more complete. But this was strong enough that it almost knocked me off my feet. That usually means whatever I saw is going to happen soon.”

Evan opened his mouth to say something, just as Seth gripped the wheel with both hands, and the truck swerved. A pink delivery van careened across the median strip, heading straight for them.

“Hold on!” Seth yelled. Evan braced himself.

“What’s going on?” Simon shouted over the phone.

Hitched to the RV, the truck couldn’t maneuver. The van crashed into the driver’s front corner, twisting metal and shattering glass, drowning out Seth’s cursing and Evan’s cry of alarm as the airbags deployed with a bang like a gunshot.

“Guys? Seth, Evan—” Simon called through the phone.

Evan’s world went black.

Excerpt

From Chapter 1 - Evan

“IT FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK ON THE ROAD.” EVAN MALONE WRIGGLED TO get comfortable in the front seat of the black Silverado. He laid a hand on his partner’s thigh and gave a squeeze.

Seth Tanner took one hand off the steering wheel and reached down to twine their fingers together as Evan sat back to enjoy the view. Seth’s dark blond hair still looked sleep-mussed, and he hadn’t completely lost the flush to his skin from a round of wake-up sex before they got on the road. Evan’s heart pounded a little faster at the thought that he had put that look on Seth’s face. The glint in Seth’s chocolate brown eyes suggested that there would be another round once they were done with the day’s drive.

“I missed this.”

Seth raised an eyebrow. “The road trip part or the almost-getting- killed-by-witches part?”

Evan gave him a look. “The road trip. The other stuff just goes with the job.”

“I have to admit, it was nice staying in one place for a few months,” Seth replied. “We put some money in the bank, rested up, and did some great hikes on those trails.” They had taken time off and stayed for a while in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina after finishing their last hunt.

“When all this is over—hunting the witch-disciples—I really want to take the RV around the country just for fun. Are you still on board with that idea?” Evan couldn’t help sounding a little wistful. They still had a lot of dangerous work ahead before they could make good on that dream.

“Sure. There’s a lot to see, and I promised you we’d go all the places you wanted to visit,” Seth reminded him. “But eventually it would be nice to have a house. A home base to come back to. We could still take the RV out when we wanted, but it would give us a little more elbow room...maybe even a yard with a garden.” The fifth- wheeler RV they towed was their home for now, inherited from Seth’s parents.

Evan smiled. “I like that. But it could be a while...I have a long bucket list.”

“Bring it on.” Seth grinned. “I’m up for the sightseeing challenge.”

Moments like this made it difficult for Evan to remember that he and Seth had been a couple for less than a year. They had fallen in love fast, outwitted a killer, and gone on the road together after only four days. Then they started the harder work of getting to know each other, while continuing Seth’s quest to track down the men responsible for a century of murders—including Seth’s brother, Jesse.

Sometimes Evan couldn’t quite believe this was his life. He’d been a bartender back in Richmond, not a warlock hunter. Then a dark witch kidnapped him to sacrifice in a ritual. Seth had saved his life and destroyed the witch.

Nearly a year later, here they were, still together, still alive, and still hot on the trail of yet another murderous witch.

“I’ve never been to Charleston,” Evan said. “Do you really think Simon’s cousin will be willing to help us?”

“According to Simon, she and her friends have tackled much bigger bad guys. I guess he didn’t quite realize what all Cassidy was involved in until just a few months ago.”

“It’ll be nice to meet Teag face-to-face, after all the times we’ve emailed and called,” Evan replied. “I’m looking forward to that, even if I’m not exactly excited about going up against another witch- disciple.”

Seth snorted. “You’d have to be crazy to be excited about that. Nice to know you’re still reasonably sane.”

“As sane as I can be, given what we do.”

Three years ago, Seth had celebrated coming home from the Army by going camping with his younger brother, Jesse, near a supposedly haunted underpass with the goal of drinking some beer, making a spoof video, and debunking the ghost stories. Then something dark and terrible attacked in the middle of the night, dragging Jesse away and leaving Seth wounded and unconscious. When Seth came around, he found Jesse’s mangled body. The cops blamed it on drug dealers, but Seth knew what he’d seen hadn’t been anything mortal.

Legend had it that one hundred years ago, a sheriff and his posse killed dark warlock Rhyfel Gremory. Gremory’s witch-disciples scat- tered, but they swore vengeance on the sheriff, his posse, and their descendants. That began a cycle of ritual killings that led to Jesse’s murder, and nearly cost Evan—one of those descendants—his life.

Seth spent almost two years after Jesse’s death learning about the supernatural and how to fight things most people didn’t believe existed. Then he went looking for the witch-disciples, to stop the cycle and avenge Jesse. That led him to Evan, who was the first of the descendants he saved. Falling in love was a bonus.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW TOUR - PROS & CONS 1 AND 2 BY AE WASP

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW TOUR - PROS & CONS 1 AND 2

Five men. Five chances for Redemption. One thing’s for sure, they’re no angels.

BOOK 1

Book Title: Pros & Cons of Vengeance

Author: A. E. Wasp

Publisher: Tantor

Narrator: Tor Thom & Alexandre Steele

Release Date: April 2019

Genre: M/M Romantic suspense/romantic comedy

Trope/s: Bodyguard. Leverage meets Charlie’s Angels but more gay

Themes: Vengeance

Heat Rating: 4 flames

Length: 8 hours 54 minutes

It is a standalone story.

Blurb

There’s nothing like being blackmailed by a dead man to really bring a group of cons together. And what a group we are: a hacker, a thief, a con artist, a thug, and a Federal agent with an axe to grind. The deal is simple, we do the jobs and Charlie’s lawyer wipes the slate clean for each of us, one at a time.

Since job number one calls for some muscle, it looks like I’m up first. I’m Steele Alvarez, ex-Special Forces Close Protection Specialist (aka, a bodyguard for some not so nice guys).

After learning what the job is — taking down a seemingly untouchable senator with a penchant for beating up young male prostitutes — I’m in. No questions. A bullet ought to do the trick.

Then I met Senator Harlan’s latest victim: Breck Pfeiffer, the gorgeous hooker with a heart of gold and the soul of a fighter. One look at him and I’m gone. That kid laid me out harder than any punch ever did. I’ll do anything to protect Breck, even kill for him. But Breck doesn’t want the senator dead, he wants vengeance.

If we’re going to find a way to bring down the slimebag and get the blackest mark on my record erased, I’m going to need all the help I can get.

Like it or not, we’re all in this together.

Blurb

There's nothing like being blackmailed by a dead man to really bring a group of cons together. The deal is simple, we do the jobs and Charlie's lawyer wipes the slate clean for each of us, one at a time.

Job number two lands right in my lap. I'm Bond. Wesley Bond. (I can't resist saying it that way. Blame my dad, if you can find him.) You could call me a hacker. I redistribute wealth - moving it from rich slimebags to poorer but infinitely more deserving people - and make a tidy profit as I do. My mission, should I choose to accept it, is to bring down some modern-day slave traders.

With the life of the one person in this world I love on the line, I can't afford any screw-ups or distractions. Unfortunately, my biggest distraction is my biggest asset - Danny Monroe. Danny is a leftover complication from our first job. He's a smart, funny, gorgeous ex-prostitute, who can't seem to keep his clothes on. I can't seem to keep my mouth shut around him. But I need a fake boyfriend, and Danny is the only option.

We don't know who the bad guy is; we have no idea how to prove anything. If I'm going to do this, I'm going to need all the help I can get. Like it or not, we're all in this together.

My Two Pennies' Worth

This is a great concept, bringing together a band of misfits, legally shady types, and just outright criminals with their hearts in the right places and have them forced into working five jobs together. And on the way those five bond and gel into a real team, and might just find love, though so far not with each other.
The assignments are solid in a fantastical way, like all the best tv and film buddy/spy shows. And I don't think it's coincidental that the main (dead?) guy is called Charlie (Charlie's Angels), the lead in book 1 is called Steele (Remington?) and in book 2 it's Bond (nuff said). The set up could well be out of Magnum PI. Honestly it's a glorious mishmash of so many of my favourite things.
There's action, humour, and romance.
The prologue is always from a non-lead character's POV and always the same person. Now I have two opinions on this person and I'm hoping I'll be proved right (probably in the last book). One that it's Leo's love interest, and two that it's... nah, I'll keep that to myself. It's not a massive stretch to think that way and I'm sure more than one or two of you will work it out for yourself.
This is a dual narrator audio, one narrator reading each POV character. Of course this means that the voices for the secondary characters (of which there are many) don't have any sort of consistency. Even the voices for the main characters differ between the two narrators. Personally I think that one narrator would have worked better.
